Proxy Mobile Location Centre (XMLC)
The Proxy Mobile Location Centre (XMLC)
is the focal point of the Mobile Arts combined location and messaging
architecture. It provides a single point of contact for applications
(XMLC clients).
The XMLC allows for application
controlled
on demand mobile location and inclusion of location information in
messages
bound for applications. In addition, the XMLC supports the translation
of end-user address information to anonymous addresses, allowing 3rd
party applications to be invoked on demand by end-users whilst avoiding
problems with privacy.
XMLC features include:
- One single messaging API
for XMLC clients regardless of access type used (SMS, WAP, USSD, MMS)
- Automatic inclusion of service
requester location in messages (SMS, WAP, USSD, MMS) addressed to
location
enabled applications (XMLC clients)
- Spatial triggers and periodic
location reporting
- Support for interworking
with the following Mobile Arts or 3rd party legacy products:
- SMSC
- WAP-Gateway
- USSD-Gateway
- MMSC
- GMLC
- OMA MLP based client interface
supporting routing to/from location servers of standard Mobile
Originating
(MO), Network Initiated (NI) & Mobile Terminated (MT) location
messages;
emergency MT location messages and triggered location messages
- Distribution of MLP messages
to local location server or remote middleware/loctaion server based
on MSISDN or IMSI
- OMA IP-based location roaming
