USSD Gateway
USSD services allow Operators to provide easy to use, responsive and fast menu-driven content provision services. USSD also provides an excellent way to provide user-friendly interfaces to value-added services. USSD support is present across most GSM and UMTS terminals (even the most basic, which gives the Operator the ability reach all end-users with services from the time of their launch without the need for handset reconfiguration.
Mobile Arts offers a powerful USSD Gateway together with a suite of USSD-based applications. The Mobile Arts USSD Gateway supports the following capabilities and features:
- High-throughput, full-featured USSD message router with excellent scalability
- Flexible support for both mobile initiated and network initiated USSD applications
- Support for both USSD Phase 1 and Phase 2
- Support for both-way communication with 3rd party clients using open APIs, such as SMPP
- Support for network-initiated USSD Message sending, including immediate and timed USSD message broadcast
- Support for visiting subscribers, i.e. inbound roamers can access (selected) USSD applications
- Support for HLR offload
USSD Applications
The Mobile Arts USSD-Based Application Suite includes:
- USSD Portal: this service enables the Operator to provide an interactive USSD menu with access to online and off-line legacy content
- Reversed Charge Calling: enables the user (e.g. a prepaid user without credit) to call another user with reversed charging. After invocation, the service sends a USSD request to the called party and, if they accept the call, the call is automatically established. If the called party is a prepaid user, realtime charging by means of interworking with the prepaid system is applied
- Prepaid Credit Enquiry: enables the user to get their current prepaid balance over USSD
- Prepaid Credit Transfer: enables the user to transfer credit from their own prepaid account to another user’s prepaid account
- Send Text: this service enables the user to very quickly and easily select and send a standard text message to another user via a USSD interface
